I'm a retired obstetrician and gynaecologist, now living in Tasmania, where I spend much of my time sketching, teaching and caring for injured and orphaned wildlife. I'm particularly drawn to the character of old towns and buildings, recording the places I visit through lively pen lines and fresh, expressive watercolour. My aim is not to create a perfect architectural rendering, but to capture the personality and atmosphere of a place - and to encourage other sketchers to develop a style that feels genuinely their own.
